I never believed in the earthly origin of Björk. For me, she came from the undiscovered galaxy. Björk is an absolutely unique, you cannot compare her with anyone and anything, you cannot say that she reminds you someone, or that you've seen similar performance or maybe heard similar voice.
'When Björk Met Attenborough' it's a documentary presented by Channel 4 (you can watch it here) about how two outstanding persons decided to collaborate together. Sir David Attenborough - English naturalist, absolutely legendary person and Björk - alien from Iceland, talent, musician, sorceress.
It's a film about totally different understanding of sound, love to the nature and seeing yourself like a part of the cosmos.
You will travel along the huge and spectacular process of creating something absolutely new. Just imagine a total harmony of technology, music and nature. It's the most perfect combination, isn't it?
Mostly the film is 'walking around' Björk's project 'Biophilia'. When I opened it for myself, I had this strange feeling of discovering something new. It was like to see, feel, taste or, obviously, hear something for the first time. From the other side 'Biophilia' is full of completely natural sounds, the oldest sounds on the whole wide world.
Try to play with 'Biophilia' application and explore music and technology through nature and with nature.
From this film you will discover for yourself a visual (!) part of a sound.
Here's how track 'Crystalline' looks like indeed:
This world is such a beautiful place! Symmetry is everywhere!
And here's a new musical instrument. Works on gravity. Oh:)
Björk's music is an infinite source of inspiration. And I really like what does Sir Attenborough says in the end, that he cannot listen to her music when he's tired. He needs to clear his mind and concentrate, because Björk's music gives him a lot to think about.
