Jessica Lange Day

If you asked me about my favorite actresses  - you would hear Jessica Lange's name. 

Jessica Lange for me is a perfect combination of beauty, wisdom, charisma and talent. She's 64 and still beautiful. And if you seen at least few episodes of American Horror Story - Jessica can be magnetically attractive.

Last Saturday I made a little film marathon day and watched 3 early and famous Jessica's works.

And now I'll tell you few words about each of them...

'All That Jazz' (1979)

'All That Jazz' (available on Amazon) tells us a true life story about famous American director and choreographer Bob Fosse  (in film his named as Joe Gideon). Jessica Lange plays a mysterious muse (angel?) of the main character. Have to say, that it was only second Jessica's role on a big screen and I was really impressed how light and natural she plays in 'All That Jazz' (especially in such a...mmm..clothes;).

The film has a tiny art-house sparkle and for me two hours watching was a bit to much. I do not like musical films mostly, but because of interesting script, great actors and nice director's work this film worth attention.

'Frances' (1982)

For the role of Frances Farmer in 'Frances' (available on iTunes | Amazon), Lange won an Oscar and the Golden Globe as a leading actress. 'Frances' is a biographical story on Frances Farmer, beginning of her carrier as an actress, first fails and disappointments and her mental problems..

Jessica Lange is really stunning as Frances! I wonder how she can transform her behavior in a so smooth way. And I love the way she smokes. I'm surprised why any of tobacco companies hadn't propose to Jessica to mount in a cigarette advertising. 

Highly recommend film to watch. Good script, interesting story, gorgeous Lange. Worth time for 100%.

'Music Box' (1989) 

And finally we came to the last film of the marathon - 'Music Box'  (available on Amazon). 

Jessica Lange  is completely different here. After blond, young and emotional Jessica, it was a bit unusual to see her red head, curly, a bit older and very-very serious. 

'Music Box' is a story about Hungarian-American immigrant, a great father and granddad, who is suddenly accused in a horrible crimes during war. His daughter Ann (Jessica Lange) is trying to investigate the case and to prove, that her father is an innocent man, caught by a mistaken identity... 

'Music Box' is full of doubts, faith and a huge problem of a choice. Good and a must-see film!

besides, for this role Jessica Lange was nominated as a best leading actress for the Academy Award and for the Golden Globe.
