Weekend Film: Quartet (2013)

On Sunday I like to watch something 'easy' and light, good-old dramas or classy comedies etc. Today I decided to ignore this good habit and for some reason, I watched Trier's 'Antichrist' (about this film a bit later of course). After I understood, that maybe my 'easy-classy-good-old' tradition wasn't so bad or boring?! Therefore I finally watched 'Quartet' directed by Dustin Hoffman. And jumping ahead, I recommend to watch it this or any evening, while having a light dinner with a glass of red wine...

'Quartet' is about retired musicians, who live in a beautiful and peaceful place, somewhere in Britain. They're old and they might forget something, but they're still full of enthusiasm, energy, and inspiration.
Once a year they make a concert to collect money for the house and, of course, to make people remember about them.

And one day, just in a middle of preparation for the concert, the true star comes to the house...

'Quartet' is a very simple and classical story about relationships, human nature and forever young human's soul. This calm and elegant film will teach you, that people always stay themselves and feel themselves no matter how old they are. Fear to make the first step, that bitter flavor of old mistakes hurts with the same power when you're 20 and when you're 70.

This film has a nice light humor and smiling extremely talented people. Watching how they're playing is a great pleasure.

Look funny, when old men behave like teens, peeing on a gorgeous green field and how they flirt with young girls, I understand that most of us will never get old inside.

...we won't stop to wear strange hats;)

And dealing with our pride will be like for the first time - every time.

The film will show you how to forget all bad and feel sorry for mistakes we've done.

Maggie Smith will teach you how to stay incredibly fabulous in your 79.

But the most important thing: 'Quartet' shows us that love and friendship have no limits, and age is just a poor conventionality for such great things.
