Pasta Puttanesca from the 'Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events'

By Solya - 12:41

Do you remember these beautiful and charming kids? Yes, they're Baudelaire family from the 'Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events' ( available on iTunes | Amazon), one of my favorite films ever! Just to remind you (or to make you interested in ;): the film is about three kids, who suddenly lost their parents, their home and  got into hands of mysterious and weird Count Olaf...

Remember how Count Olaf made the kids cook for him?! Right! Klaus, Violet and little Sunny made a pasta puttanesca for Olaf (does someone exactly knows why 'pasta puttanesca' means 'slut's pasta'??). So today we'll try to make it:) Relax, take a deep breath, because we don't have to bake anything, and we need only about half an hour to make this delicious and simple dish:)

Hungry?! Let's start!

We need:
300 g spaghetti (I used noodles)
1 tbsp capers
6 tbsp black pitted olives
500 g tomatoes
2-3 chive garlic
2-3 tbsp olive oil
1 small chili pepper
50-60 g anchovy (optionally), f.e. I took about 50 g of tuna
parmesan cheese, as much as you like:), this ingredient is also optional

Take a chili pepper, cut it in half, with a spoon take off all the seeds. Cut the pepper in semicircles. Then, cut olives, capers and garlic. If you're adding anchovy to your puttanesca - cut them as well.

Connect olives, chili pepper and capers into one bowl.  Heat olive oil in a pan and add the garlic. We need to fry the garlic only for 1-2 minutes. Feel the smell? Good! Add the rest from the bowl into the pan. Leave it for 3-5 minutes. Prepare tomatoes. You can remove skin from the tomatoes or leave it, then - cut them good and add into the pan. Tip: to be true, much more comfortable would be prepare tomatoes before the step with adding garlic. In this case you will have a time to prepare tomatoes in peace and quiet.

Stir the sauce on a medium heat. The sauce is ready, when it's thick. Believe me, it smells super good!
Boil pasta, grate some parmesan if you like it, open a tuna (if you want:)

We're almost done! Now we just have to mix everything in a plate or eat it separately, or..whatever:)
I did like this: pasta, tuna on it, then parmesan. Added some sauce.

This simple dish has lots of pluses! It's super delicious, super easy for making, and it's not expensive!
Now, just turn on the film and enjoy the taste of pasta puttanesca and absolutely gorgeous 'Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events'.

Here's some teasers to cause you appetite;)

It's good that I decided to make a pasta, not this soup from the film;)

Have a nice day everyone;)
